Merseyside Girl Guides Cumbria Way Walk 1985

Created by Jan 3 years ago

So many happy memories of time spent in Mollies company, she was without doubt an inspiring lady she encouraged, give confidence and made you feel that anything was possible.   In 1985 a small group walked the Cumbria Way as our challenge for 75 years of guiding, Mollie was part of our backup team.   The weather was awful typical Cumbrian rain!  on day three Mollie pulled my aside and said that it if we wanted to finish then camping was no longer an option. She said I will find indoor accommodation for us all  and of course she did, she somehow managed to persuaded church's and villages halls to accommodate us free of charge. How wonderful it was to have  a dry bed and somewhere to chill out after a day's walking.  That was Mollie so very difficult to say no too but always  a kind and caring  person.
